Illuminating Links is an exciting day long programme of canal based events that will light up Glasgow’s canal at Firhill Basin.

Kicking off from 2pm there will be family activities both on land and water with opportunities to try canoeing and kayaking sessions. You can also enjoy free boat trips along the canal, including a memorable trip on the Lazy Swan – Glasgow’s only floating tearoom!

For those who would rather keep their feet on the ground there will be arts & crafts activities on The Duckling, live music and inside the marquee there will be displays and information stands including a delicious fruit barra.

A stunning torchlight procession will be at the heart of the day’s celebrations to mark the rebirth of Glasgow’s historic canal corridor. School children living in and around the canal are currently working on a unique project to create a series of spectacular lanterns which will be paraded along the canal to Firhill Basin as the finale to Illuminating Links.
